Mechanism of Action

Tesamorelin is a stabilised synthetic analogue of GHRH(1–44) with a trans-3-hexenoic acid group at the N-terminus that protects it from dipeptidyl peptidase IV cleavage. It stimulates pulsatile GH secretion from the pituitary and has been clinically studied for visceral adiposity reduction in HIV-associated lipodystrophy.
