Mechanism of Action
Melanotan II is a cyclic heptapeptide analogue of α-MSH that non-selectively activates melanocortin receptors (MC1R–MC5R). Activation of MC1R drives eumelanin synthesis in melanocytes, while MC4R activation influences appetite and sexual arousal pathways.
